Review: I am so grateful to my friends, George & Peggy Pendleton for recommending Dave Lane’s Hi-Tech Mechanical.
When I set up the appointment, they gave me a window between 1-3pm. The technician, Chris Mooney, called me at 12:45pm to let me know that he would be at my house in 15 minutes. Now, that may or may not have been a fortuitous fluke, because he was at my house 15 minutes later. Impressive.
When I set up the appointment, they advised about joining their COMFORT CLUB maintenance agreement. It’s a reasonably priced agreement that reduces prices for any additional work or additives and includes the fall maintenance on the heating system. I accepted it.
Thank Goodness I did! I had been with another neighborhood company for YEARS and, yes they kept telling me that my unit was leaking freon and that I had to replace the whole thing. I did tell Chris about that to prepare him.
Chris, even before he set foot in my house, put on plastic booties and brought a carpet to keep debris off of my upstairs carpet when lowering the attic stairs. With the ‘other’ company, I always had to vacuum insulation mess after they were done. Not this time. Chris cleaned up any debris because there wasn’t any.
He was EXTREMELY professional and conscientious and knowledgeable about my unit.
He tightened a valve and checked it for any leakage. He determined that I would need, at the least, 5lbs. of freon. We all know how pricey THAT is. Thanks to the maintenance agreement, it was a fair savings.
Yes, possibly next year I’ll have to replace the system. But, at least, I have a year’s reprieve.
